David Hardy

I have been described in many ways over the years. I am reaching the age where change is unlikely; sometimes your name fits.

I am a passionate, results-orientated person with a track record of success in challenging and varied working environments. I am fiercely loyal, and dedicated to clients and customers, unyielding, positive, always pushing forward, and never satisfied until the work is done.

Many manufacturers know me from commercial roles within corporate finance organisations over the last 12 years or so. I have walked thousands of miles on the carpets of trade shows and boat-show pontoons, working in partnerships with manufacturers, distributors, and dealers to facilitate lending to their networks and enabling these companies to grow and achieve their goals. My goals.

More recently through these types of lending relationships, I realised that many of the brands I was working with required global market knowledge, information, and commercial support as much as money, to achieve the success they desired. Information has become the power that drives businesses.

I formed Clear Commercial Solutions to meet these specific needs. In the past year it has become my life’s work to pour everything that I have learned over 20 years into unique global data sets, class-leading software tools, and hands-on commercial support that enables manufacturers, distributors, lenders, and investors to define the market they operate in and to fully maximise the potential sales and distribution of their products on the global stage.

Outside of the company we are building, I live between Marseille and London where I spend time with family, being a father, socialising, playing the guitar, running and swimming. I am extremely fortunate to have these opportunities.


Jonathan O'Hanlon

"Engineer and MBA, IT Project Manager and Consultant, Athlete, Personal Trainer, Life Coach and Published Author."

Jon has had a varied and interesting career, starting with 14 years in the SA Navy from which he resigned as a Lieutenant Commander. Then spending time at Woolworths and Old Mutual in IT project management roles before leaving to set up his own business in the field of IT project management and consultancy for 13 years.  Jon now applies this long term industry experience to managing strategic projects for Clear Commercial Solutions. 

Outside of IT and project management responsibilities. Jon is the first person to run across the continent of Africa.  A feat which he achieved in 2015 running 2,600 km, in effect a marathon every day for 3 months, which he did to raise awareness and funds for water sustainability and elephant conservation.

Jon has a number of sporting achievements: cricket - 7 wickets for 42 runs in the final of the National Club Championship; hockey – selected for the national University Colleges team; represented the SA Navy and SADF in cricket, hockey and golf; run the 3-day African X (3 times) and Southern Cross trail runs, the 5-day Cape Odyssey and Namib Desert Challenge trail runs.


Being an avid sportsman and fitness fanatic Jon has also qualified as a Personal Trainer, as well as the advanced Train the Trainer course.  Jon also brings his work and life experience to the field of Coaching.  Jon has coached individuals, executives, and professional athletes in both SA and the UK. Alongside working as a project Director with Clear Commercial Solutions Jon also runs a series of “Better Life” workshops, covering various aspects of his coaching expertise.

Somewhere along the way he managed to also write and self-publish his popular book, Can Anyone Here Sing? – six perspectives of peace.

Jon has two amazing and beautiful daughters and one grandchild. Jon is based in Cape Town South Africa.


Ryan Mawer

Commercial Director with Clear Commercial Solutions and with particular responsibility for the Nordic region and the Benelux Union. Having worked in sales and marketing for nearly thirty years, Ryan has developed a clear understanding of what companies require in order to expand their markets and increase sales including the importance of accurate and targeted market data.

“It’s fine having a great product or service but it’s better to couple this with the knowledge of who and where your potential customers are. Sales and Marketing has changed markedly over the last few years and we now live in an information age. Before joining Clear Commercial Solutions, Ryan worked at several companies as a Sales Executive moving through Sales Management to Sales and Managing Director in several different industries including financial products, printing, information technology and design. As well as working for some small to medium sized enterprises, he has also worked for Touché Ross, The American Express Group, The Williams Lea Group and Fujitsu Siemens.


Challenging the “it’s always been done this way” mantra, Ryan has initiated several programs for companies that he has worked for that resulted in strategy changes ultimately leading to increased sales and market presence. Creativity, drive and leadership are Ryan’s greatest strengths. He thrives on all kinds of challenges, especially those that expand a company’s reach.


Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Manchester in England. He lives in Kolding, Denmark with his wife and has four children. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, playing music and trying to keep fit.
